This workshop will discuss a principled approach to developing vocabulary tests. It will then review a number of existing vocabulary tests (e.g. Vocabulary Levels Test, Vocabulary Size Test, Word Associates Format, Vocabulary Knowledge Scale). Finally, it will discuss a number of item formats to explore which aspects of word knowledge they assess.
